WOW! This is excellent stuff! Is it Jazz, is it Prog, is it something else? Just don't care, this is groovy and f***ing complex at the same time. Foot tapping and headbanging in weird signatures. Frank Hadlich

"Oculus" has quickly become one of my favorite Markus Reuter releases. Markus used a different Oculus grid structure for each track here to limit what each of the musicians could play during each of the improvisations. These inherent limitations eliminated the cliche "licks" that usually occur for many musicians during improvisation. All of the musicians involved are amazing and worked together here perfectly. For listeners who like innovative music that pushes boundaries, this is a must. Jerry F

Well, Tarasque is a bit, innit? But the whole album just has its own ... space ... universe? ... that it defines and owns. If you thought these musicians knew what the word "boundary" meant, think again. This is well outside.
Experimental jams. Gorgeous production. Peter Jones
